Gras Rules We've been selling the finest Mardi Gras Beads, Masks, Doubloons, and Dolls for longer than we can remember. And as such, we've learned a thing or two about what can and can not be done at Mardi Gras. While catching beads at Mardi Gras is a fun event, poor judgment can ruin your party. To that end, we offer the following suggestions on how to make the most of the parades. Parking at Mardi Gras Tow trucks seem to work overtime during the Mardi Gras season. But the truth is that they have to. Illegal parking is a significant problem. So make sure that you observe all parking signs Note that parking along parade routes is prohibited for two hours before a parade. If you find that your car is missing these numbers may help. But as you are drinking and trying to catch your beads remember to not overdo it, and if you are asked to discard your drink do so immediately. Also, make sure that you put your drink in a plastic container. (No glass allowed) In addition to catching Mardi Gras Beads at the parades, many times the parades will throw out Mardi Gras cups. If you are lucky enough to catch one, make sure you put it to good use. Viewing Stands / Ladders Viewing stands are a great way to see the parades. But if you are invited to a stand or build one of your own, just be aware that it's not uncommon for stands to be taken down or for you to be asked to remove them. Also, if you bring ladders to the parade route be aware that there are some rules governing their use. The ladder must be one foot away from the curb for each foot in height. For instance, a six foot ladder must be placed at least six feet away from the curb. |
